Feast in the Forest 2018
Feast in the Forest 2018, back in the original location at Doi Kham. Back for great music from local bands and food from Yao’s Birds Nest team. And as usual we have a good idea what to do with the ticket money – we will be donating all the profits towards buying a double bass for our friend Joey.
We hope to see you for a magical night in the forest. The music line-up includes Joel Ector himself, Unemployment Agency (North Gate), Doggy (Mojo) and others… ( updates soon ) … Some jazz, some blues, some cosmic music..
Tickets are 500 thb and include dinner, which will be served at 7pm,
and a camping area (for if you bring your own tent).
Tickets available at: North Gate, Thapae East, Birds Nest Cafe
Many of us have had the chance to hear Joey’s amazing music on his visits to Chiang Mai over the years. His self-made bamboo flutes are now in the hands of many locals and people are starting to learn them. Now Joey has decided to be a Chiang Mai resident, so we can hope to hear him play more in the future, a musical gift for Chiang Mai.
But right now, Joey is without his main instrument, the double bass. It’s the instrument Joey has played with Horace Tapscott’s legendary Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra, with Pharoah Sanders, Billy Higgins, Tootie Heath, Frank Butler, Ray Draper, George Moreau, Nate Morgan, Taumbu Ensemble, Michael White, Frank Morgan, Radha Prasad and many more.
So, Feast in the Forest 3 will donate all profits towards this bass, and we can reunite Joey with the instrument he’s been playing since he was 14 years old.
